Grassroots and Groundwork

Scholarships Available!

We are pleased to again offer scholarships for our Grassroots & Groundwork conference. Two types of scholarships are available. You may apply for one or both scholarships:

Scholarship #1:
Up to $300 (per person) to cover the registration fee.

Scholarship #2:
Up to half of estimated travel expenses, not to exceed $1,000 (total – not per person)

Eligibility Criteria
Scholarships are available to individuals, with a maximum of three people from the same organization.
Applicants must be from one or more of the following:

• Nonprofit 501(c)(3) – the organization’s or specific program’s budget must be under $500,000 annually
• Community of 50,000 or fewer residents
• Tribal reservation

How to Apply
Applications are being handled by the National Rural Funders Collaborative. Your odds of receiving a scholarship are better if you apply early, as scholarships are awarded to eligible applicants on a first-come, first-served basis until May 9, 2008, or until all funds have been distributed.

To apply, send the following materials via e-mail to nrfc@nrfc.org:

1) Letter of application including:

    - Which of the eligibility criteria apply to your situation

    - A description (at least 200 words) of your present involvement in a poverty-reduction initiative

    - A description (at least 200 words) of how this conference information will be shared with others in your community

2) Proof of 501(c)(3) status (if applying as a nonprofit)

3) Proof of organization/program budget (if applying as a nonprofit)

4) Spreadsheet indicating the full cost of your transportation & lodging (if applying for Scholarship #2) - Complete this form
